Rebecca Atkinson is a Freelance Journalist, Writer and Creative Consultant, specialising in the representation of diff:ability in children’s industries. She has experience in TV production, print journalism, online content, script writing and toy design.
For the BBC, Rebecca worked for 11 years as an Assistant Producer on a range of factual and children’s programmes and later wrote for, and produced Soap, Teen and Music websites for BBC Online.
Rebecca has contributed articles and comment for publications including The Guardian, Vogue and Marie Claire, written three screenplays for Film 4 and a play for Soho Theatre, London.
Rebecca currently runs #ToyLikeMe and consults brands looking to include positive representations of diff:ability in their products to build pro-diversity PR and connect with new audiences. Previous clients include Playmobil, RNIB, Lottie, and Lucie London.
Karen is a freelance play consultant specialising in play for children with visual impairment. She has previously worked in research and development for Ragdoll Productions.
